Sharing your screen over Mikogo - Linux support now available

For some years, I am happy user of Mikogo, solution to share your desktop over Internet. It helped hundreds of  teleconferences, support actions and I even taught my mother importing photos from her camera to Google Picasa using it.
It used to be available for MS Windows and MacOS for some time, Linux version missing.

As I prefer do some "real work" over travelling somewhere, I really enjoy remote cooperation and Mikogo turned to me to be the best remote desktop solution available as it allows you to:

  1. share your  screen
  2. point to some spot on remote screen by mouse click to say "this one" (small arrow shows on screen of the remote party)
  3. control remote computer if you get permission by the remote party
  4. some more stuff like chatting, whiteboard etc. which I do not use so much.
Note: I use other solutions like Skype or GTalk for talk, Mikogo does not provide this service (and I do not miss it there).

Today, I had to manage some testing with colleague of mine, who had to use Linux at that moment and we tried using new Linux version of  Mikogo just made available - and it worked like a charm - no problems, all worked as it should.

As the base of people I know using Linux is growing in last year and I am thinking to turn there too for some (Python) development, I am really happy this essential tool for my work is available there now. Thanks to the authors and providers.
