iperf and jperf - Tools for measuring network performance

iperf is tool, which allows to measure network performance for both, TCP and UDP traffic.
iperf is command line version, jperf is GUI written in Java.

Tool runs on both, Linux and Windows.

Testing on my local Windows machine with jperf was question of minutes: download the package, unpack, go to bat file starting jperf twice, configuring one as a server, another one as client, and then running the tests and seeing the charts and hard numbers. The GUI shows the command line switches used, so to do the same only on command line shall be also quite easy.

Running Linux Ubuntu Jaunty I was not able to install it over apt-get and did not try to use alternative methods (as I had lack of time).

It is provided as OpenSource project, hosted at SourceForge.
