Performance Analysis of OpenVPN on a Consumer Grade Router

Investigating OpenVPN and what throughput I can expect, when transferring stream of ascii data, I found nice paper: Performance Analysis of OpenVPN on a Consumer Grade Router by Michael Hall.

The paper shows very detailed analysis of OpenVPN tunnel using some router, which is able to run Linux and where OpenVPN can be installed.

It is listing couple of usefull tools, like iperf, and it also pointed me to Fractional Factorial Design for testing systems, which may vary in multiple parameters and which allows to perform just a fraction of all possible configuration combinations to reach usable results.

Well done Michale Hall, thanks. It was really inspiring.
